The Long-awaited Part 2

This first picture is actually part of Part 1. This is the hotel we were stranded in. The following shows a favorite pass time, jumping from the chair to the bed.
When we got the car back, we turned navigation over to Andy who quickly told us what rivers to cross and what mountains to drive over. When we got out of St. Louis we were so eager to get to the Benson's that we just drove straight through... no stops (except for the occasional gas and potty breaks). The kids were very good at holding their bladder's in check... except for Owen.

We made it to the Benson's just in time for Andy to receive his training to be a super hero from his cousins.
He is a quick learner and quickly got promoted to Bat Man. (Bat Man became Wonder Woman) As you can see by Andy's left foot, Wonder Woman is no match for Bat Man and Super Man!
Wonder Woman's sister had very little to do with Super Hero's. She entertained us with her dramatics (this is an inside joke to anyone who was there). My personal favorite was the two-adult diaper change she got her parents to assist with.
When super heroes weren't around The sheriff had to protect the civilians. . .
. . . And protect the fair maiden who had inherited her father's "Prettiest Eyes - Class of 95".
Addie and Owen watched the Comic/Western on the lawn.
The super heroes were never ending entertainment.
I'm not quite sure what to say here, except that it's a funny picture of a horse pulling a wagon, the driver prefers the horse ride rather than the wagon ride.
Inside, the super heroes lost their magical powers when faced with the ominous father.

The next set of photos aptly describe the trip to Uncle Mike's wedding:

Notice the eyes of Andy and the whimper of Addie. We were THAT family, the ones who's kids keep crying and won't pose for pictures.

The newly weds.:

After the naps, the reception went much better.

 The Benson Family:

Addie found time to visit with her Uncle Matt, all the way from Argentina.

Super Man aka Clark Kent, turned against us at the wedding.

I had to protect the sleeping Owen.

What I actually enjoyed most about this year's trip to the Benson's was the golfing and staying up late with all of Emily's siblings. It was our chance to have fun while the kids were sleeping. No, there aren't any pictures of the ping-pong tournament, Ligretto, or Bohnanza but the late nights were surely some of the most enjoyable moments.

Coming soon.... Part 3 in our Saga, the trip to the Jaynes'

  2. YA for Part 2!! It was fun to see this section of the trip. The Benson's are fun people/super heros...until they turn on you. Andy looks so cute in his bow tie and Addie with the flower in her hair. And Owen's just cute. I was so relieved that Andy navigated you there with no more problems!
